God has a purpose and place for every Christian in the local church.  Nothing is more satisfying than serving the Lord in the perfect place He has for you.   Come and find that place of service.

Who We Are

Our Team & Leadership

God has given GSBC a tremendous leadership team.  The staff and ministry workers love God, love people, and seek to bring glory to God rather than themselves.  It is a privilege to worship God and serve Jesus Christ together while we make an impact for eternity.

Peter was raised in a Pastor’s home in Maine. His parents had started the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Topsham, ME, in June of 1975. He had the opportunity to be around the church his entire life and has always been familiar with the operation of the church ministries. Peter was saved at the age of 5 on a Friday night while the church was conducting their weekly Awana ministry. Shortly after that he would be baptized by his father at the church.

Each year the church young people would go to a summer camp hosted by another church there in Maine. The summer that Peter was 8 years old he felt God’s calling upon him to preach wherever God would have him to go. Peter fulfilled this calling throughout high school preaching at youth groups, nursing homes, and occasionally in his father’s church. Upon completion of high school in 1995, Peter attended Massillon Baptist College in Massillon, OH where he graduated from in 1998 with his Bachelor of Divinity Degree. He would later continue his education and receive his Master’s degree through Rock of Ages Theological Seminary and then his Doctor of Ministry degree from Covington Theological Seminary.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where Would I Fit In?

Our Services are attended by people from all walks and life stages.  You will find a home for your family at GSBC.

What Should I Wear?

There is no strict dress code to attend our public services, but in case you’re wondering, a majority of our church members wear their “Sunday best.”  We welcome you to come as you are, but don’t plan to stay that way…  We should strive to be more like Jesus every week!

Do You Have A Nursery?

We provide first-class nurseries and childcare for your newborn and children up to four years old.  They will be kept safe and well-supervised as they play, sing songs, and learn the love of God.  We have procedures in place to keep the children safe. Also, we run background checks on all of our nursery workers to insure your children’s safety.

Where Do I Park?

We have plenty of space for your family in our paved parking lots.  We have parking attendants to help you and marked parking for  handicapped and visitors.

What Music Do You Sing?

We sing hymns and Gospel songs that glorify the Lord and draw the congregation closer to God.  Every service gives you an opportunity to join us in singing hymns and spiritual songs. Each chair provides a song book for you to use located in front of every pew. You’ll enjoy the music as the choir sings to the accompaniment of our piano. We also have ensembles, youth singers, and singing groups scheduled throughout the month.

What Bible Do You Recommend?

We recommend and use the King James Bible.  It is the inspired and preserved Word of God.

Sunday School

Every true disciple of Christ must be committed to learn the Scriptures.  Our children’s classes are graded to help them learn the Word and apply it to their lives.  SS is not just for children.  Our adult class is our best attended group.

Worship Services

Our Sunday services are organized to glorify God, spread the good news of the Gospel, and encourage God’s people.  You will enjoy the fellowship of friendly believers, learn God’s Word, and improve your life as you become more like the Master.

Bible Study

Our mid-week Bible study is an informal service where the most committed Christians gather to learn the depths of God’s Word, pray together with fellow Christians, and encourage one another in the middle of the week.  This service is one of the highlights of our week.
